Given below are details of the various talks I can offer. I have delivered these talks to a wide variety of groups and can tailor them to last from 40 minutes to an hour (longer by negotiation).

A lighthearted look at the world of work featuring anecdotes from a long and varied career as I set out to prove the point that ‘people are funny’.

Where Do You Get Your Poems From?
Drawing on both my published and unpublished work I explore how some poems were developed and engage with the idea that alternative meanings to that intended by the poet are not only possible but likely.

Older Than My Teachers
Leaving a career in business to become a full time undergraduate student at the age of 47 has its rewards and its drawbacks. Drawing on my experiences as a mature student and subsequently as a Senior Lecturer this talk takes a humorous look at University life.

My plays have been performed in Hull, Manchester and Edinburgh as well as Savannah (GA) in the USA and Harare and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. It is fair to admit that I have had more success as a playwright than as an actor but I love being on the stage even though sometimes things go wrong…

So You Want To Write A Book?
Tired of rejection letters from publishers I formed my own company to publish my novel This Was Mr Bleaney’s Bike. In this presentation I read from my novel and share the process by which it came to be published. Discounted copies of my book will be available and I will gladly offer advice and answer questions.


Fees. All the above can be tailored to last for 40 minutes to one hour. My all inclusive fee is £30.00 within Hull and district (Hessle, Cottingham, Willerby etc), £35.00 Beverley, Hornsea etc. I am prepared to travel further afield by negotiation.
